Music is His only Shine

Shine which was the best film in 1996 is a blockbuster. It is a melancholic film, but it is very gripping too. I think its plot is impressive and successful. It really effects people with its emotional atmosphere. The film’s music makes feel the emotions which is trying to tell in the movie well. Also, its plot is from real life.

The film is about an Austrilian child who is good at playing piano. His name is David. He is very unsocial and shy. The main reason is his dominant and strict father. He is a very ambitious man and he thinks the most important thing is winning. He educates David for playing piano. However, David who is a very talented and clever person needs a better teacher. He joins a music competition when he is just a child. A man who is a music teacher sees his talent and wants to educate him. Then,David becomes a very successful pianist and he wins a competition. He takes an award and a musician wants to send him to America for a better education. However, his father does not let him go, because he thinks David should stay with his family everytime. Then, a letter comes from England to send him to the most famous music college in the world. David goes, but his father tells him that he could not come home again. David starts his education in England. He decides to play Rach.3 Reborn which is the most difficult and tiring music composition in the world. He wants that, because he thinks the most important thing is managing the most difficult one because of his father opinions and dreams. His teacher begins to teach Rachmaninoff to him. He plays it well in the college competition, but he loses his mind. He lives in a mental hospital for a long time. The doctor forbids playing piano to him. Then, a woman who comes there as a pianist notices that he is David Helfgott. David starts to live with her. However, she can not stand his unusual behaviors. He lives alone for a long time. He goes to a cafe and he begins to play piano again. He marrieds and his wife helps him a lot. He returns and everybody goes his concerns. However, his behaviors can not change.

To sum up, the main reason to lose his mind is his father’s rules. He has a weak personality because of his father’s ambition. He was not ready to play Rachmaninoff because of his past and personality. On the other hand, his music still impress the people a lot. Music is his last luck and his only “shine”. (David Helfgott is still alive and he is playing piano in the concerns to a huge crowd.)

I think, everybody should watch this movie. It is very beneficial to feel our emotions. I am sure that everybody who watches Shine will realise his/her father’s importance. They will be glad that they do not have a father like David’s. Geoffrey Rush who is David in the film is very successful. Everyone should see his great performance. He took an Oscar because of his performance at Shine. I believe that nobody can stop his/her tears at the end of the film. On the other hand, if you watch this film you will love the classical music more.
